Assistant Manager

Maggie’s Thrift is seeking to hire a full time Assistant Manager who will double as a Job Training Program Coach. Maggie’s Thrift is located in Central Phoenix and is a new Social Enterprise of Maggie’s Place. Candidate must be detail oriented, flexible with their schedule, an excellent communicator, able to work store shifts. Candidate will help supervise the store, volunteers, job participants, and assist with marketing, advertising, general store operations and more. Manager/ Supervising experience of at least 1 year is preferred. Volunteer-Staff Openings

Maggie's Place is seeking in-house volunteer staff for the upcoming year. Applications will be taken on a rolling basis. See below for more information.

TO MAKE OUR WORK POSSIBLE, WE ARE LOOKING FOR WOMEN INTERESTED IN COMMITTING THEMSELVES TO SERVING PREGNANT AND PARENTING MOTHERS AND THEIR CHILDREN.

In serving at Maggie's Place, staff members are expected to:

  • Live in community with pregnant women, new moms, newborns and other staff members
  • Participate in community functions (staff/house meetings, celebrations, house retreats, etc.)
  • Provide house coverage (answering the phone, welcoming visitors, etc.)
  • Act as a contact person (providing one-on-one support and guidance to a mom)
  • Assume administrative duties (i.e. volunteer coordination, donation management, staff recruitment, speaking presentations, writing thank you notes)
  • Commit to a year or summer of service (with possibility of renewal after a year)
  • Challenge themselves to deeply embrace the mission and core values of the community
  • Respect life from conception to natural death

To support staff members in their service, Maggie's Place provides:

  • be able to provide proof of pregnancy
  • be at least 18
  • have no other children in her custody
  • be free from drugs and alcohol for a period of time
  • not be fleeing a current domestic violence situation
  • willing to live in accordance with the established rules.
  • committed to working on goals of self-improvement.

A Brief Overview:

  • Women come from around the country to live in community
  • Commit to one year or more of volunteer service
  • Work one-on-one with one or two mothers
  • Take turns being on duty in the house and share admin tasks
  • Provided: monthly stipends, room and board, medical insurance
  • Summer staff positions available
  • The minimum age for summer staff is 18; for full-time staff it is 21
